Alright so maybe cave isn't the right description. This was my first event as an assistant organizer for the New England Portrait Photographers and Models Meetup group. While the group of 11 photographers rotated through various shooting areas in this part of the Rutland State Forest, I spent the afternoon in an old prison camp root cellar, working with two awesome models: Kelly (left) and Laura (right).
I setup the lighting and kept things running, while giving assistance to some of the newer photographers. We had two lighting setups, each with gelled background lights. With almost no ambient light, we got all we could out of a few off-camera flashes. It isn't easy to light a "cave", and we sure went through a lot of batteries, but the resulting images were amazing.
Later in the afternoon, we found out that Laura has an amazing voice, which really matched well to the acoustics of this structure. Click here to check out her site.
